You have no idea what this opportunity means to me. Words will never be able to accurately relay my excitement, my gratitude, my SHOCK when I found out I was chosen! It’s not every day that you get to see one of your biggest dreams come to life before your eyes. Getting to be a part of a show with so much heart is something straight out of a fairy tale for a designer like me.

The Details (So Far)

What I know about the show at this point: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will  air on HGTV in 2020. The new host will be none other than Jesse Tyler Ferguson, the hilarious and caring actor from Modern Family! Along with designer Carrie Locklyn, carpenter Darren Keefe and myself, Jesse will guide the redesign of homes for families across the country.

What Being on Extreme Makeover on HGTV Means to Me

There are so many reasons why this opportunity is important to me. First, I’ve always believed this world is always better when there is an abundance of love and kindness. It’s what fuels my desire to help my sisters in Kenya and local efforts to end homelessness in LA. I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to use my skills to help others. This show will allow me to focus on that with other professionals who feel the same way, and I couldn’t be more excited about that. My job will be to stretch my creative muscles each week to make others happy, and that’s something I truly enjoy. I’m certainly up for the challenge!

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is also dear to my heart because of my personal history with the show. When this show first aired, I remember being inspired episode after episode by the design crews. They actually changed people’s lives for the better, and I cannot wait to join their ranks! I’ll not only get an opportunity to transform spaces, but I will also get to help transform the lives of families and individuals.

Finally, I’m so happy that I will get to take you all with me as we embark on these “extreme” projects! It’s one thing to talk to you through words and photos in social media, but you’ll actually get to see what I do and how I think about design! It is my hope that you will invite me and the crew into your living rooms each week as we inspire renewed hope in the lives of really good people. I can’t wait to share this journey with you!
